About this job Role: Basic Grade Phlebotomist Employer: South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital Pay: EUR 38,671 - 51,007/yr About this type of work (general guide written by nixers.com, not the employer's wording) Health science and pharmacy roles in hospitals and community services usually support diagnosis and treatment. Depending on the role, that can mean running and quality-checking laboratory tests, taking blood samples, carrying out cardiac, neurological or imaging investigations, decontaminating instruments, or dispensing medicines and advising clinical teams on their safe use. Hospital laboratory and diagnostic services often run on-call or extended-day rosters. A relevant qualification is required. Pharmacists must be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) to practise, while pharmacy technicians are not currently registered by the PSI and work under a pharmacist's supervision. Medical scientists and radiographers must be registered with CORU to use those titles. Some other roles in this group, such as physiologists and phlebotomists, are not among the professions CORU regulates.
