Work can be in hospitals, community clinics, schools, homes or children's disability network teams. Hours are typically weekday-based, and some posts are part-time or rotational. A recognised qualification is needed. Occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and social workers must be registered with CORU, the regulator for health and social care professionals, to use those titles in Ireland. CORU registers for psychologists have not opened yet. Garda vetting is required for work involving regular contact with children or vulnerable adults.
