Job Description
Job Title: Neuro Physiologist
Department: Interventional Radiology
Reports to: Head of Surgical Services
Date: 2026
Overall Purpose of Job
To provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the centre of all we do.
To participate in the performance of diagnostic testing of the Neurophysiological activities of the adult and paediatric patient.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
The neurophysiologist should be familiar with the theory, techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.
§ Record, measure and monitor selected neurophysiological activities of patients as required by Consultant.
§ Explain test procedure to the patient, parents/guardians and to obtain the consent necessary for a complete examination
§ Having a complete understanding of procedures and an ability to make accurate measurements is essential.
§ Ability to effectively communicate with Consultants, GP's and hospital staff regarding patients' needs.
§ Ensure the timely production and delivery of patient procedures.
§ Maintain required departmental records.
§ Assure that equipment is maintained, cleaned and calibrated according to manufacturer's specifications.
§ Report any malfunctions as they occur per hospital policy.
§ Participate in department process improvement projects.
§ Maintain infection control procedures to protect patients and staff.
