- Does it cost anything?
- No. Posting a job is free and answering one is free. nixers charges no lead fees and takes no commission, and there is no paid listing. You settle up with the other person directly, off-platform.
- Do I need an account to post a job?
- No. You can post without one. You leave an email address instead, because a job posted without an account has no inbox of its own for applications to land in.
- Who sees my email address?
- Nobody. Your address is never shown on your job and never goes out in an email to anyone else. Applications arrive as a notification to you, and you read and answer them on nixers.
- How do I take my job down?
- If you posted while signed in, open the job and choose Remove this job. You'll be asked to confirm. If you posted without an account, the link from the confirmation screen and from the email we sent still takes the job down. Either way the recording and the reply address are erased. A job you post by voice also comes down on its own after seven days.
- What if nobody replies?
- Then nobody replies, and we would rather say so. nixers is new in Dublin and there are not many people on it yet, so a job posted this week may sit quietly. Send the link to your own people while you wait: word of mouth is still the fastest part of this.
- How do I stop the emails?
- Emails about a job you posted stop when that job comes down. Job alerts are a separate switch under Settings, then Alerts, and that switch is off until you turn it on. There is no newsletter and no marketing list.
- Can I get an email when a job is posted?
- Yes, if you have an account. Open Settings, then Alerts, and turn on Email me about new jobs. Choose as they are posted, or once a day, and which kinds of work. The message goes to the address on your account. Nothing is sent while that switch is off, and nothing is sent when there is no new job.
- Is my voice recording public?
- Yes. A memo on a job post is published so people can hear what the job is, in your own words. Do not put anything in it you would not put on a poster, and delete it whenever you like.
- How do I report a problem?
- On a job posted on nixers, use Report this job. A moderator looks at it. If you have been threatened, hurt or defrauded, contact An Garda Síochána first. For anything else, write to hello@nixers.com.
