Motor Claims Handler

Zurich Insurance plc is looking for a Motor Claims Handler with strong organisational and communication skills, seeking to develop or further advance their career in Claims. Working in a fast paced environment, the right candidate will be required to manage a portfolio of motor damage claims in a pro-active and efficient way, whilst delivering a positive customer experience to all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work in the Claims Team based in Zurich Centre, Wexford.

Your Role

As a Claims Handler your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

Administration, investigation, and settlement of material damage claims.
Negotiating fair settlement in line with Company standards
Liaise with Customers, Brokers, Company Service Providers and Claimants in person, by telephone and by written correspondence
Prompt handling of first and third party claims, taking responsibility to resolve all enquiries from both customers, third parties and external contacts, to ensure delivery of a pro-active claims service
Reviews, resolves and proactively finalises claims within authority limits
Acquires and efficiently organises the relevant evidence and information to accurately assess the value of the claim and to recognise potential fraud/recovery indicators
Adheres to all local, regulatory and governance requirements throughout the life of the claim
Refers to customer specific claims handling protocol and/or customer proposition service charter to ensure that we understand and fulfil the needs and expectations of our customers
Working as part of a team focused on the achievement of challenging service levels with customer centricity crucial to all processes.
Getting involved in project or ad-hoc duties to support management

Your Skills and Experience

As a Claims Handler your skills and qualifications will include one or more of the below:

A minimum of 2 honours in Higher Level subjects in the Leaving Certificate or Third Level Qualification (minimum Diploma Standard) or equivalent industry qualification
Having APA Qualification with previous experience in a similar claims role will place you at a distinct advantage.
Applicants should hold or have the desire to pursue a Certificate in Insurance Practice (CII) and/or Association of Insurance Institute ACII qualification. In recognition of this, a comprehensive study support package will be provided

Strong customer service skills, focused on the delivery of a high quality customer experience.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines

Job Summary

General:

  • Provide fund accounting/administration services.
  • Ensure the net asset values (NAVs)/distribution rates of all funds are calculated accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with BNY Mellon standard or client specific procedures and timetables.
  • Supervise the preparation and calculation of NAVs across all funds with zero error tolerance.
  • Review and sign-off on all NAVs and dividend rates calculated.

  • Supervise fund Administrators to ensure the accurate and timely processing of trade, corporate action and cash settlement information on the accounting system.
  • Ensure accuracy of new master file set up on the accounting system.
  • Timely payment of fund expenses.
  • Ensure BNY Mellon standard procedures and controls are being adhered to on a daily basis by all staff under supervision.
  • Communicate new procedures on a fund to all relevant staff.
  • Ensure standard controls are at all times sufficient, have been rigorously adhered to and properly applied and are understood by staff.
  • Communicate any significant operational issues that arise to Manager.
  • Ensure fund Administrators maintain daily/monthly files in a manner suitable for future review by the fund and internal auditors.


Client servicing:

  • Act as the primary dedicated contact for all contacts at a client's offices on operational and client servicing issues.
  • Ensure client concerns/requests are addressed as soon as possible and within an agreed timetable.
  • Set aggressive but realistic timetables for addressing client requests and where timetables are not met, ensuring the client is contacted well in advance and a new timetable agreed.
  • Keep line management informed of client issues and their progress and highlighting to management any client concerns/complaints as a matter of urgency.
  • Ensure client specific monthly reports are completed according to the agreed timetable and are checked before sending them to client/trustee/other.
  • Liaise with custodian on an ongoing basis and provide feedback to management.
  • Maintain a friendly but professional relationship with key client contacts.
  • Provide the above service to other clients within the group on an exceptional basis when their dedicated relationship Assistant Manager or Manager is unavailable.
  • Provide non-daily services/reporting to all clients.
  • Ensure all audit queries are accurately and fully responded to with minimum delay.
