Location: Newtownmountkennedy – Ireland
Job Brief: To deliver the assigned project(s) on behalf of the company; support the in-territory sales team in developing new opportunities and provide in-territory service team with engineering support.
Take initial project responsibility for
Suggest and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals for successful delivery of the project(s).
Plan and organise work activities, plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines.
Undertake or organise the any snagging of work on-site, arranging for appropriate action and works to be taken.
Manage the Permit to Work systems as required.
Acting as the focal point for any unexpected technical difficulties, ensuring that they are resolved in a timely manner in order to avoid any delay to the project(s).
Liaise and communicate on a regular basis and as required for the smooth operation of the project, to include discussion with:
Monitor project progress to establish site variations and delays against contract, keeping all relevant parties informed and resolving issues whenever possible.
Write detailed reports and updates for the Project Manager and all interested parties.
Ensure that Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards are understood and adhered to at all times.
Undertake the role and responsibilities of Site Manger as required.
Provide technical support to the Project Manager during the installation, commissioning and testing phase of the project, ensuring the timely production of all necessary documentation.
Support and assist in the Sales stage of a project taking responsibility for ensuring that conceptual design and tender preparation documents are provided in accordance with required timescales and quality standards.
Attend site for technical and layout surveys.
Resolution of technical issues relating to process problems and service issues.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Equivalent building industry qualifications (for example in the UK: Construction Skills Certification Scheme, Site Management Safety Training Scheme, etc.)
Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
Experience of CHP installations, steam raising plant and all aspects of ancillary equipment.
Good understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering.
Good understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
Knowledge of the construction standards and working requirements relevant to each state/territory of operation.
Good IT skills – Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project.
Professional Qualifications Essential:
Degree in Engineering (or similar technical subject) from a recognised institution (alternative higher education certificates may be considered where supported by relevant industrial experience).
