The Group Art Director will oversee all aspects of newspaper, online and marketing/advertising design for our news brands.
The successful candidate will work with the various departments to ensure that there is a coherent approach to visual design across all titles and brands. They will also be responsible for directing internal and external designers to work on projects developing artwork or layout on our websites or in our newspapers.
The key purpose of the role is to create cohesive, recognisable brand identities across all aspects of design. The role holder will work closely with the Publisher, editors and senior production journalists/designers across web and print. He/she will also work closely with our marketing and advertising teams to ensure there is a consistent design ethos.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Overview)
Oversight of all visual presentation of INM’s newspaper/website design and branding
Working collaboratively with production journalists, designers and creative agencies
Managing a team of designers across titles, ensuring successful completion of all projects in line with company standards
Ensuring cohesive and visually impressive design
Laying out pages for magazines and web design
Discussing design and layout ideas with the Editors and the Publisher
Anticipating trends and setting INM’s overall visual style
Attending editorial/advertising/marketing meetings as required
Oversee the development of new projects and ensuring successful completion
An eye for evolving a brand and a commercial head – dealing with the marketing team on new launches and initiatives
