Senior Lecturer/Consultant Paediatric Neurologist RCSI and Children’s Health Ireland (CHI)
RCSI and Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Consultant Paediatric Neurologist. This Academic Consultant post will join the cross-city Department of Paediatric Neurology to support the delivery of Neurology care at the current children’s hospitals; CHI Crumlin, CHI Temple Street, CHI Tallaght and to support the Paediatric Outpatients, Urgent Care Centres at Connolly and to follow at Tallaght, and Paediatric units around the country.
The post will be based half time at CHI Crumlin in the Paediatric Neurology Department and half time with RCSI at the St Stephens Green Dublin city-centre campus. This post has been approved to address the identified workload in clinical care for Paediatric Neurology at CHI. With the commitment to Paediatric Neurology research at RCSI the role will also provide an opportunity for innovation clinical and translational research in Paediatric Neurology, aiming to improve care and health outcomes for children with neurological disorders in Ireland.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with extensive clinical and academic experience, a recognised expert in his/her field. S/he will build on departmental achievements to-date, leading the education and research agenda for RCSI’s Department of Paediatrics. S/he will inspire colleagues while driving the continuing development of a culture of collegiality and innovation in the Department and with colleagues across both CHI and RCSI.
This appointment is on a Type B basis under the Consultants’ Contract 2008, and is structured as a joint 50% clinical and 50% academic post.
