Clinical Nurse Specialist / Clinical Nurse Manager 2
(Under the Governance of Mercy University Hospital Cork CLG.)
The post of CNS Stoma Care has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
The main responsibilities are: delivery of agreed Key Performance Indicators, quality assurance, resource management (staff and non- staff), participation and implementation of performance management, practice development, facilitating communication and audit of service and professional / clinical leadership.
Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for;
Eligibility Criteria - Candidate
I) Be a registered nurse on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be eligible to be so registered
II) Be registered in the General Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives in which the application is being made
III) Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verifies that the applicant has achieved a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher relevant to the specialist area of Stoma Care/Colorectal/Gastroenterology prior to application
Can demonstrate in writing that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher standard, relevant to the specialist area of Stoma Care/Colorectal /Gastroenterology prior to application
IV) Have a minimum of 5 years post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 5 years full time in the general division of the register in which the application is being made
V) Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in specialist area of Stoma Care/Colorectal Nursing
VI) Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development in the area of stoma care
VII) Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice
