As a key member of the project execution team, the Construction Project Manager in Ireland is responsible for managing capital and expense projects on site in any given year of up to $100m. Projects can vary in size and discipline type and a multi discipline knowledge of facilities systems is an advantage.
The position reports to the Site Facilities Construction Manager and in this role the person will be accountable for all aspects of his/her assigned projects. Responsibilities include supplier management, day to day construction related operations, major project scope definition, schedule performance and budget monitoring and controls. Thorough planning and execution management is critical in this role to eliminate risk of safety incidents and impacts to factory operations.
Partner and collaborate successfully with key stakeholders including Ireland factory staff, facility owners, global supply management, design teams, site construction and suppliers to deliver construction projects
Manage day to day construction using lean principles to ensure a safe and quality work environment without interruptions to factory operations.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
o General Contractor (GC) management, Stakeholder management, Vendor management, working close with SPOC (Facility System Owners), PE (Project Engineers) & Work Groups
o Leading the Project during construction phase, directing PE, SPOC, GC & A&E to fulfil the deliverables of the project
o Management of Vendor to install & commission Electrical & Mechanical systems and infrastructure.
o Technically competent on Electrical & Mechanical Engineering design and construction
o Input to Budget Approval process
o Participate in Design reviews
o Monitoring & Tracking the General Contractor to ensure the GC delivers the Scope, Schedule & Budget
o Technical & constructability input to Design Reviews
o Technical & constructability input to Schedule development
o Technical & constructability input to Cost challenges
o Understanding & implementing the terms of the contract with the GC
o Input to cost forecasting & reviews
o Ensure Quality of installation
o Strong Field presence
o Strong advocate for Safety performance in field
o Full compliance to Intel SOP's & policies
o Monitor track, influence & manage from design process, through construction, through OAT's / FAT's, matching to white paper complete & approval
o Development of procedures & policies to ensure an effective & efficient delivery of the project.
o Ensuring that the work is being performed to Intel policies and expectations
Inside this Business Group
� 5+ years of project/construction management or equivalent construction leadership expertise, proven track record in leading various teams.
� Candidate should be qualified as a Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent. Experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services engineering on complex industrial developments
� Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and have a working knowledge of MS Office Applications
� Ability to develop and implement innovative engineering methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules
� Proficiency with reading and interpreting standard construction documents, 3D models, schedules, contracts and proposals
� Familiarity with design, sizing and modelling methods for process systems
� Understands commissioning, OAT's & FAT's
� Ability to interface with a multi-user customer base.
� Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity
� Strong technical expertise to provide tactical direction to Construction team(s), both direct and matrix report
� Experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities mechanical systems would be an added advantage
� Solid resume of medium/large scale projects and program management.
� The person must have strong leadership and communication skills, the demonstrated ability to drive decision making and change at the cadence Moore's law requires.
