Product Owner Digital Channels

Reporting into the Head of Digital Channels Consumer

Purpose of the Role:

This is a key role within the PSD2 Programme, reporting to the Head of API Channels. The Product Owner is a core member of the team and should quickly build up a deep understanding of our API capabilities for PSD2. The Product Owner will manage and deliver a number of initiatives to support the business readiness, business model definition and implementation as well as customer enhancements, regulatory compliance, risk, complaint mitigants and operational initiatives ensuring the channels support both customer and business objectives.

They must have a clear perspective on what’s required to achieve the right commercial outcomes for the business and ensure that stakeholders are kept fully up to date and expectations are managed. The Product Owner must be very pragmatic, be a proven deliverer ideally with channel/product and project management experience

An excellent communicator, will work with colleagues across a number of areas including Retail, IT, Contact Centre, Marketing amongst others, to support the API Channel as well as act as an SME for the channel to support the delivery of business led propositions.

Key

  • Responsible for the delivery of a number of initiatives on the API channel roadmap
  • Development of excellent relationships with key stakeholders across the Group and a solid understanding of company organisation and strategic goals
  • Derive the functional requirements and features from business cases
  • Ensure budget is in place for each initiative and prioritisation agreed with stakeholders
  • Work closely with multiple delivery teams to deliver key features or fixes
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure compliant quality outcomes for customer and the API channel
  • Maintain prioritised backlogs and ensure that teams have a clear understanding of what they are developing and the value it delivers to the customer
  • Ongoing updates to RADAR and management of risks and controls on the risk register
  • Follow existing governance controls, including RPSAG, Risk Reviews, IT security engagement and others

Leadership & People Management:

  • Provide support for learning and development for individuals and for the benefit of the team
  • Act as an advocate for API adoption

Risk & Compliance:

  • Maintain & monitor standards, controls, processes & solutions, to minimise business and IT risk
  • Ensure full compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements and standards

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum level 5 Leaving Certificate to include English and Math or equivalent
  • QFA is the preferred qualification however applications from individuals who hold APA Loans and Investments will be accepted on the understanding at interview they will commit to attaining APA within18 months of being appointed to the role.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as Product Owner/Manager or Business Analyst
  • Experience of agile delivery desirable (e.g. Scrum)
  • Excellent communication, relationship building & collaboration skills
  • Experience using a customer centric approach to building products/services/solutions
  • Proven and demonstrable decision-making skills
  • Proven record of willingness to take the initiative and adopt a proactive approach
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams and facilitate conversations to agree direction
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical timelines in a fast-paced environment
