We describe ourselves as a mass market brand with a boutique heart. We like to stand out from the crowd and offer our girl an engaging and inspiring environment, one that excites her and encourages her to return!

A business with real passion for fashion and creativity, the a|wear team constantly travels the globe in search of inspiration and trends that will appeal to the a|wear girl, continuously giving her something to fall in love with.

Our History

a|wear started life as part of Galen Weston's hugely successful retail empire stretching from Canada (Holt Renfew), to the UK (Selfridges Group) and Ireland (Brown Thomas Group).

In the late 1970's, the Brown Thomas Group saw there was a demand for a separate chain of specialist affordable fashion clothing stores and a|wear was born. In 1985, Dublin saw the first a|wear store open on Grafton st.

By 2007, our store portfolio includes 25 stores in the republic of Ireland, 2 stores in Northern Ireland and one concession on level 2 of Selfridges, Birmingham.
